A new, state of the art 83,000 SF, K-6 elementary school in Marana, AZ, completed in the summer of 2016. The result of masterplanning with the Marana Unified School District. Winslow + Partners worked with the teachers, administrators, parents, students and district officials to create the programming of spaces that encompassed the district’s vision of a school for the 21st century.

The classrooms include 3 walls and an operable glass partition that opens upon into a commons area to allow teachers flexibility in how they arrange students according to different needs, tasks, curricula, learning styles, or special needs.  Writing on tackable surfaces is possible on all sides of the classrooms to further enhance the teaching & learning experience. The school is designed around a school commons area, where students can gather for assemblies, exhibit projects, or socialize with friends. This was a CM@R project.
